All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA)

All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA), established in 1945, is one of the oldest, premier Industries Associations in the country. AIRIA is the largest not-for-profit non-government body serving the rubber industry and trade. The Association has the objectives of safeguarding and promoting the interests of the Indian Rubber Industry (both auto tyres and non-tyres sectors), covering products, raw materials and machinery. AIRIA has over 1200 country-wide members and some Industry Associations as its association members. More than 90% of the units are in the MSME sector.

The Association has its Head Office at Mumbai with four regional offices at New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai and a Chapter Office at Pune. New Chapter Offices are opening in other regions. AIRIA works closely with the Government on policy issues, enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and expanding business opportunities for the industry through a range of specialized services and global linkages. It also provides a platform for sector-specific consensus building and networking.

The Association’s activities are guided and governed by a Managing Committee on a prescribed ratio as outlined in the Articles of Association. Regional Committees and a Chapter Committee comprising elected and nominated members govern and tackle all local activities and functions of the region including local problems that the industry might face.

AIRIA provides a platform for interaction between Indian entrepreneurs within India and rest of the world. AIRIA receives and sends delegations all over the globe. AIRIA assists in the identification of partners for joint ventures, location of consumers and suppliers and also provides assistance in technical and manpower training.

AIRIA recognizes its members’ contributions to the exports of Rubber Products, Rubber Machinery and Raw Materials by giving "AIRIA Export Awards" every year.

The K. M. Philip Award is biennially presented under the aegis of AIRIA for outstanding contributions to the Indian Rubber Industry by an individual.

  • Make IT an integral part of the entire value chain thereby facilitating the industry to achieve international standards in terms of quality, design and productivity.

National Rubber Conferences (NRC) are held four times a year in every region and each of them has evoked a positive and overwhelming response. Keeping the interest of Rubber industry as its primary focus, efforts are made to focus on major issues and challenges faced by the industry in the global scenario.

Industry players are exposed to new ideas and have an opportunity to enhance their knowledge through theme-based presentations made by eminent speakers from the industry. The overwhelming response of delegates and their deep involvement can be observed during the interaction sessions. One significant benefit of the NRC has been the increased camaraderie amongst its members.

With the recognition that NRC has received, we now have various rubber stakeholders come together with AIRIA to co-partner the event.

AIRIA has created the Education Trust with an aim of promoting education in the field of rubber technology. It is for the first time in history that AIRIA has gone all out for an Industry Academia Partnership which is very common amongst other industries. AIRIA has realized that this is the easiest way to overcome the shortage of rubber technologists.

AIRIA-ET has fully renovated two new Rubber Technology Class Rooms in GPM Mumbai, equipping them with all the latest amenities. The next step is to move away from the classroom into improved chemical, mechanical and machinery labs.

AIRIA-ET would like to invite all the members to come forward and sponsor the repairs of the machinery or help buy new machinery and equipment required for the Rubber Technology course and also participate in training the youngsters in the Rubber Technology course for the progress of the industry.

AIRIA is active in promoting education and training in the rubber industry at all levels including the shop floor, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
