IRE 2009 was organized by AIRIA jointly with CII on 28th to 31st , January 2009 at Salt lake stadium Kolkata to give the Indian Rubber Industry a hands-on feel of global achievements and trends in the field along with the latest technological advancements available.

It also provided a common forum for all Asian countries to work together, leverage shared strategies to explore opportunities because Asian markets is today the second-largest consumers of natural rubber and have a growth rate higher than its European counterparts.

Experts from Asian countries such as Japan, China, Malaysia, and Korea came together with specialists from the USA, Germany and The Netherlands to discuss emerging market scenarios, technologies, alliances, etc.
