 AIRIA was founded in 1945 to strive towards one goal-safeguarding and promoting the progress of the rubber industry. AIRIA also acts as the voice of the rubber industry in India and represents the industry at all forums in India and abroad. AIRIA has its headquarters in Mumbai and has regional offices in Delhi, Mumbai Kolkata, Chennai and Chapter office at Pune.
Besides serving the rubber industry in all possible manner, the Association also organises Asia’s largest Rubber Expo biennially, the India Rubber Expo.
AIRIA also sponsors delegations through various associations to participate in Expos around the world like `Chinaplas’ at Shanghai in June 2002, `Mini Rubber Expo’ at Pittsburgh, USA in October 2002, Cleveland, USA in October, 2003, Latin America in April, 2004, TPE & Rubber Expo Asia held at Bangkok in 2006, Tyres and Rubber Tech China-Expo 2007, ASEAN Rubber conference 2008 and Expo at Kuala Lumpur.
AIRIA also disseminates information through the monthly official organ “Rubber India”, periodicals and circulars and newsletters etc. The AIRIA recognizes its members’ contribution to the exports of rubber products, rubber machinery and raw materials by giving “AIRIA Export Award” every year and also the K.M.Philip Award is presented once in three years under the aegis of AIRIA.
